Working in acrylics, Jody has become known for her realistic yet unconventional dog portraits. With a fun and bright color palette, she brilliantly captures the unique expressions of her subjects.
Having painted dog portraits for over 12 years, Jody has been published with both a dog and cat poster, as well as a dog calendar. She was recognized by the American Kennel Club by winning their national poster contest. Her winning painting graced the cover of the AKC Gazette magazine, and her dog portraits have made their way into numerous publications.
One of the largest picture framing manufacturers commissioned Jody to do vibrant dog portraits to promote a line of brightly colored frames and matboards, and her publisher asked her to do their annual Christmas cards.
Her wonderful dog portraits can be found as local as your nearby veterinary center, to homes and commercial establishments across the globe. Even a television show and commercial had her paintings shown in the background!
Jody can be found displaying a large body of her work at a few chosen dog shows throughout the year. She says that her favorite part of doing any dog or art show is how people's faces "just light up" when they see how she captures all those adorable dog faces and expressions.
